Urimax

Urimax belongs to a group of drugs called alpha blockers. Its mode of action involves blocking alpha receptors in the muscle of the prostate gland. This causes the prostate to relax, which makes it easier for patients suffering from an enlarged prostate to urinate properly, and may also treat other urination problems caused by this condition. In some cases, Urimax has been used by patients to help them get rid of kidney stones. The active ingredient present in Urimax is Tamsulosin.

Before you take Urimax, a medical consultation with your doctor is required so that the seriousness of your condition can be determined, and the proper dosage prescribed. In most cases, adults treating benign prostatic hyperplasia are told to take 0.4 mg per day, with the tablet taken a half an hour after eating. The dosage should be taken at the same time each day.

Side effects: back aches, drowsiness, pain in the face, problems affecting the teeth, a decreased sexual ability or abnormal ejaculation.

Serious side effects which require you to consult a doctor straight away are uncommon, but can still occur in a small number of patients. Possible reactions which require immediate medical attention include a painful erection lasting for a prolonged period of time, fever and fainting. Other side effects not listed in this paragraph may also occur.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
