Tropicamet is an antimuscarinic drug administered to enlarge (dilate) the pupil of the eye (topical mydriatic) as well as for temporarily paralyzing the muscles of the eye which causes constriction (cycloplegia) during easy examination of different parts of the eye such as the lens, vitreous humor, retina etc., or other diagnostic procedures. This drug relaxes the eye muscles.
The most common side effects of Tropicamet are blurred vision, dry mouth, increased sensitivity to light, eyelid swelling, irritation, stinging in the eyes, blurred vision, mild stinging of the eyes, photosensitivity of the eyes, or headache.
Tropicamet is contraindicated in patients having conditions such as hypersensitivity to any component of this formulation.
Tropicamet interacts with Amantadine. Make sure to consult with your doctor for starting, stopping or changing the dose or an alternative composition if absolutely required.
