Rabicip works by decreasing the amount of acid in the stomach to help the stomach and esophagus heal from acid damage. The active ingredient present in Rabicip is Rabeprazole Sodium belongs to a class of medication called proton pump inhibitors (PPI). Rabicip can be used to treat a persistent cough, difficulty swallowing and heartburn caused by conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Some people may also use Rabicip along with other medication to help prevent and treat gastric ulcers.

Rabicip should be used as directed by a doctor, usually 1 to 2 times per day. Rabicip can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct length of treatment and dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the treatment. The tablets should be swallowed whole and not split, chewed or crushed as it may cause too much of the drug from being released at the same time.

Rabicip cause unwanted side effects such as: dizziness, insomnia, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, upset stomach, headaches.

Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Rabicip is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using Rabicip if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.

The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. Rabicip is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
