Pyrimon

The active ingredients in Pyrimon Eye Drop are Chloramphenicol and Dexamethasone.

Chloramphenicol is used to treat severe life-threatening infections, particularly those caused by Haemophilus influenzae and typhoid fever. It is also used to treat certain eye infections. It is also used in the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections of the outer ear.

Dexamethasone is used to treat various inflammatory conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders. It is also used to treat certain types of cancer. Chloramphenicol is a potent broad spectrum antibiotic which has activity against many types of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by killing or slowing the growth of sensitive bacteria. Dexamethasone prevents late phase allergic reactions by preventing release of chemicals responsible for allergy.

Common side effects: itching and inflammation of the skin; grey baby syndrome in newborns and infants.sensitivity reactions may occur with the use of chloramphenicol eye drops such as transient irritation, confusion; depression; unusual bleeding or bruising; unusual tiredness; vision changes, nausea, severe, swelling of eyes and skin and rarely, vomiting, headache; fever; chills; or sore throat; dry mouth; dark urine;inflamed and sore mouth, mild diarrhea, rashes, stinging, inflammation of the tongue, fever, hypersensitivity reactions including, pain; redness; or swelling at the injection site; severe allergic reactions, whole-body allergic reaction; blood disorders, burning, joint pain or repeated infections.
