Perinorm

Perinorm contain the active component, Metochlopramide, which belongs to a group of medicines known as antiemetic. The drugs under this class works mainly on a part of your brain that prevents you from feeling sick. The emdicien can also be purecribed for purposes not mentioned in the document. It is a  prescription drug and can be purchases only on the prescription of a certified physician.

Perinorm is indicated to prevent chemotherapy induced emesis. It is used for the treatment of postsurgical and diabetic gastric stasis. Perinorm is useful in facilitation of small bowel intubation in radiographic procedures. Physicians may prescribe you for the management of gastroesophageal reflux. It can also be considered to treat and prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting when nasogastric suctioning is undesirable.  

Perinorm comprises of an active component Metochlopramide, which works by blocking the dopamine receptors in chemoreceptor trigger zone of the central nervous system. It stimulates the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract and accelerates gastric emptying.

Side effects of Perinorm: drowsiness, gynecomastia, arrhythmias, hypotension, hypertension.

Perinorm is not indicated for patients who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to the drug or its active ingredients. The medicine is formulated to be administered orally. You must be taken it at the same time each day. The dosage will be decided by your physician depending on the condition being treated. Follow your physician’s instructions. The tablets must be swallowed with a glass full of water. They are not meant to be chewed or crushed, as this will disturb the prolonged release effect and cause the active ingredient of the medicine Metochlopramide to be released at once, which can be potentially harmful. These tablets are not meant to be opened or broken for this reason.

Take Perinorm as your physician may have prescribed it. Take the tablets on a regular basis for better results. If you miss a dose of Perinorm, use it as soon as you remember, if it is near the time to take the next dose, leave the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Never double up the dose to catch up the missed one.  

Keep Perinorm away from the children and pets. Do not store in the bathroom or kitchen (warm places). Store it at room temperature away from sun rays and moisture. Never freeze the tablets.
