Dinex EC 400 mg
Dinex EC is an antiviral medicine that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in your body. Dinex EC is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Didanosine is not a cure for HIV or AIDS. Didanosine is for use in adults and children who are at least 2 weeks old.
Before using Dinex EC, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below: avoid alcohol while taking Dinex EC due to risk of pancreatitis and liver damage. Dinex EC does not prevent a HIV patient from passing the virus to other people. Do not take Allopurinol or Ribavirin while taking Dinex EC. Preexisting liver dysfunction. Risk of fat redistribution. Risk of immune reconstitution syndrome.
Side Effects: diarrhea, peripheral neuropathy, nausea, headache, rash, vomiting.
